    About the Role

    Our Clinical Negligence team in Bath are nationally renowned for the outstanding work they do on behalf of claimants, securing high levels of compensation for injuries attained. We are noted in particular for the work we do related to Birth injury and Cerebral Palsy cases.

    We have a unique opportunity for an experienced Clinical Negligence lawyer to join this highly regarded team to work alongside Kerstin Kubiak, Partner, assisting with a case load of high value birth injury claims.

    Responsibilities of the Role

    • To significantly assist with a heavy caseload of complex and high value cerebral palsy cases

    • Meet financial targets and supports the budgetary management of client matters

    • Be a second point of contact for key clients managed by senior lawyers.

    • Develop technical ability, seeking excellence at all times. Begin to develop a niche expertise in birth injury cases

    • Lead and coach a small team, delegating tasks and client work to junior lawyers and trainees, providing clear instructions and monitoring progress.

    • Ensure understanding of the firm’s strategic goals and sets own personal activities/ objectives to align.

    • Understand the changes in the legal sector and the implications for the firm.

     

    About You

    • Qualified Solicitor/ Legal Executive with a minimum of 3 years PQE

    • Strong experience of undertaking claimant Clinical negligence work, in particular birth injury and cerebral palsy cases.

    • Strong client management skills with a focus on delivery of excellent client service

    • Ability to coach and mentor junior lawyers

    • To be calm and methodical in the approach to work with a strong eye for detail

    • Positive Attitude to Work- Approaches work with positivity and energy and thrives in a busy environment.

    • Effective Communicator- Clearly conveys information and ideas through the relevant media. Speaks in Plain English.

    • Self Aware- Recognises personal strengths and weaknesses and uses that knowledge to interact positively with others. Maintains a professional impression.

    • Team Player- Actively participates as a member of a team. Develops and maintains relationships with others.

    • Resilient- Functions effectively under pressure and handles difficult circumstances in a manner that is acceptable to others and Royds Withy King.

    • Open to Change- Receptive to new ways of working with the ability to be flexible in approaching tasks and problems.
