    About the Role

    A rare opportunity has arisen to join our growing Industrial Disease team in Bath to undertake Mesothelioma and Asbestosis work on behalf of claimants. Working alongside leading experts in this niche area of law, you will urn a caseload of files, working to secure the best compensation for our clients. 

    Responsibilities of the Role

    • Manage a caseload of Industrial Disease Personal Injury files, dealing effectively with cases predominantly relating to D&T, Asbestosis and Mesothelioma.

    • Meet financial targets and support the budgetary management of client matters

    • Develop the Bath Industrial Disease team by forging links with local lung cancer nurses, health professionals and doctors, plus charities to develop and grow niche/ sector expertise.

    • Grow internal and external networks of clients, intermediaries and contacts, build on personal profile and reputation.

    • Organise and attend networking events, writing publications and marketing materials and speak at seminars to develop personal and firm profile.

    • Lead and coach a small team, delegating tasks and client work to junior lawyers and trainees, providing clear instructions and monitoring progress.

    • Give technical, business and general advice to junior lawyers and support staff to assist their personal development.


    About You

    • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 3 years PQE. Applications will be considered from qualified Legal executives.

    • Specific experience in dealing with Industrial disease claims with a focus on D&T, Asbestosis and Mesothelioma cases.

    • Confidence to manage your own files with minimal supervision

    • Excellent client management skills with a focus on delivery exceptional client service

    • Ability to coach and mentor junior staff.

    • Positive Attitude to Work- Approaches work with positivity and energy and thrives in a busy environment.

    • Effective Communicator- Clearly conveys information and ideas through the relevant media. Speaks in Plain English.

    • Self Aware- Recognises personal strengths and weaknesses and uses that knowledge to interact positively with others. Maintains a professional impression.

    • Team Player- Actively participates as a member of a team. Develops and maintains relationships with others.

    • Resilient- Functions effectively under pressure and handles difficult circumstances in a manner that is acceptable to others and Royds Withy King.

    • Open to Change- Receptive to new ways of working with the ability to be flexible in approaching tasks and problems.
